I do not know when I got injured or what movement caused it. I assume it must have occured on February 8th. I recall not being able to walk on my birthday and I think the monday before that. Since then I have taken 1 week rest, attempted training and further irritated my injury. Since that I have taken 4 weeks off and hope to return this weekend, although I have a little pain today and a mild aching in my right shin. This could just be that I need to replace my running shoes, I cannot recall when I purchased them and I have probably exceeded the 300 mile limit some people put on a pair.
Being injured yet capable of moving around is an unusual feeling, it may have been easier to break a bone instead. That would lead to a clump of plaster, forcing me to stay inactive and rest. However with a strain, the temptation is always there to push too hard, too soon and set yourself back. Restlessness and a lack of patience are not good.
I have been running alot on a treadmill but yesterday was the first time I stuck on some cleats and attempted sprinting and cutting. I bought new cleats because my old ones were a year old and I must have battered any cushioning there was in them. Movement felt good and I had a little aching pain afterwords, but the following morning it seems to have ceased. Light running later will tell if I have aggravated it further.
Light running didn't produce any pain in the groin, just some soreness in the quads and glutes, underuse I would hope.
I have not been sleeping well, eating alot and having an excess of energy due to reduced movement, lurching violently between drunkenness and sobriety. Lying awake until 3am and not waking until 11. I need to reset my body clock to something resemebling a functional persons again.
